Speckled trout have moved into slightly deeper grass flats, favoring 4 to 6 feet of water. Drifting with popping corks and live shrimp has been a productive method, especially on moving tides. There’s also been a steady showing of mangrove snapper around local structure—these little bruisers are great on light tackle and make for excellent table fare.

Red snapper days are limited but productive, with quick limits being reported when the season is open.
